Petrol bomb hurled at The Tribune staffer’s house Chandigarh, April 28 The Tribune is running a series of investigations by Devinder Pal about the business interests of the extended Badal family. Devinder has lodged a police complaint alleging that some unidentified assailants tried to torch his house. The incident took place shortly after Devinder had gone to bed. Devinder said he was woken up by the sound of broken glass. He found glass pieces strewn on the floor and a burning piece of cloth that was apparently attached to the glass container. He said he prevented the fire from spreading by pouring water on the burning cloth. Devinder said a PCR vehicle reached his house after he called up the control room. Two Home Guard jawans were deployed at the main gate of the house. Devinder said his repeated calls to station house officer Anokh Singh at Sector 26 police station proved futile. The Chandigarh police acted after The Tribune team visited the police station and enquired about the delay in police response. Assistant Sub Inspector Gojinder Singh said he received the information from the control room at 11.45 pm. "I was busy in night patrolling. I will be going to the spot," he said.
