Modi asks BJP to refrain from petty statements, Congress slams New Delhi, April 22 (ANI): Congress slammed Narendra Modi’s tweet wherein he asked the ‘BJP well wishers’ should refrain from giving petty statements. Party Spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that these are crocodile tears and that Modi never took action against such acts. Meem Afzal also condemned the tweet and said that he never took any action against Praveen Togadia. Modi had tweeted “Petty statements by those claiming to be BJP's well wishers are deviating the campaign from the issues of development & good governance. I disapprove any such irresponsible statement & appeal to those making them to kindly refrain from doing so”.
Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of creating rift between Hindus and Muslims Andhra Pradesh, April 22 (ANI): Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi, accused the BJP, of creating rift between Hindus and Muslims in the country. Gandhi was addressing an election rally in Mahboobnagar parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh in a bid to garner votes in ongoing mammoth democratic exercise. Meanwhile, Gandhi also hailed his ruling Congress party for creating separate state of Telangana by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh.
EC will keep close tab on hate speeches: VS Sampath Gandhinagar, April 22 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said that machinery would keep close watch on inflammatory and hate speeches in the ongoing rallies across the country. He also added that police can take action on their own whenever they come across any violation of law during ongoing general election. Election chief also added officers would keep a vigilant eye on any attempt to bribe voters.
Malaysian MH 192 flight arrives back in Bangalore after landing gear malfunctions Bangalore, April 22 (ANI): Passengers on board a Malaysia Airlines plane, which was forced to abandon its flight because of problems with its landing gear, heaved a sigh of relief as the plane landed safely in Bangalore. A Malaysia Airlines plane with 166 people on board had turned back and landed safely at Kuala Lumpur airport because one of the tyres on its main landing gear burst during takeoff.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) said tyre debris was noticed on the runway at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 16 minutes after the plane had taken off for Bangalore. The captain of the Boeing 737-800, carrying 159 passengers and seven crew, was alerted immediately and airport fire rescue services were deployed.
Salman Khan hangs from 40th floor for Kick New Delhi, April 22 (ANI): In a daring stunt for his next release Kick, dabangg superstar Salman Khan will be seen hanging from a Polish building's 40th floor. The film is currently being shot in Poland. In the sequence film's hero is required to hang from 40th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science, the tallest building in the country. And, Salman being a hero in real life too chose to do the stunt without a body double sending the crew into tizzy. Though the crew was nervous, hundreds of fans that gathered below cheered for Salman Khan for entire 5 hours of shooting.
