3 youths burnt alive as car catches fire after crash in Sonepat Sonepat, April 17 The deceased were identified as Sandeep, Rishi Pal and Rakesh of Janti village. Jitender and Virender, who suffered severe burns in the incident, were also from the same village. They have been admitted to Max Hospital in Delhi for treatment. The five youths had reportedly gone to Rasoi village to attend the marriage of a friend. After the “Ghurchadhi” ceremony, they were going to Panipat in a Toyota Corolla car as members of the marriage party. Around 11 pm, the car, which was fitted with a CNG cylinder, hit a Canter on the GT road from the rear. Soon after the crash, the car got engulfed in fire and the victims could not come out of it. Murthal police personnel reached the spot and extricated the victims by breaking open the rear windscreen of the car with the help of local people. SHO Murthal police station Randhir Singh said the victims were brought to the Civil Hospital, Sonepat, where the doctors declared Sandeep and Rishi Pal as “brought dead” and referred Rakesh, Jitender and Virender to Max Hospital.
