Cong fumes as Swamy calls Priyanka an alcoholic
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, April 15
Scores of Congress workers staged a violent protest outside BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's residence in Nizamuddin area of South Delhi demanding an "unconditional apology" for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Priyanka Gandhi and top party leaders.

Protesting against Swamy’s comment that Priyanka “drinks too much alcohol and has a bad name”, Congress activists threatened to intensify their protests. Commenting on Priyanka’s willingness to contest from Varanasi, Swamy had said, "They saved her. She would have got a thrashing. She is very unpopular, she drinks too much alcohol and she has a bad name, her husband has a bad name.”

Addressing the demonstrators, Haroon Yusuf, Congress Legislative Party leader in Delhi Assembly, and Mukesh Sharma, chief spokesperson in the DPCC, said Swami had lost his “mental balance” and should get a medical check-up.

"Swamy's allegations are totally baseless. We condemn his derogatory remarks and demand an unconditional apology from him," Yusuf said.
