Strong words, stronger spirit
Singer-actor Nishawn Bhullar’s Suhe Phull is going to the Punjabi International Film Festival, Toronto. He has made a stepping stone of every obstacle that has come in his path
Sometimes in the middle of the night when sleep ceases to honour him, he likes to take the road that takes him to his village in Hanumangarh, Ramsara Narayan, Rajasthan, where he grew up. A place that still smells of his childhood marred with struggles, that reminds him of the sacrifices his parents made — a place that inspired him to move out and a place that he would love to return to every now and then.

Bhangra blast
The foot-tapping Punjabi dance form Bhangra has over the years delighted one and all. Various permutations and combinations have now made it even more effervescent
The likes of Rishi Rich, Bally Sagoo and Punjabi MC literally pulled Bhangra from the cultural shows and onto the dance floor of Southall clubs. Bohemia, the first-ever Punjabi rapper, made us believe that it was possible to rap in the language and just as beautifully as brashfully! Yo Yo Honey Singh famously spoke of how it was even possible to pao bhangra on Angrezi beat. The spirit of the dhol lends itself effortlessly well to the format of the West.

Experimentation mode
The overhaul in Bhangra music can be completely credited to the second generation Punjabi diaspora that experimented with the genre. The British Asians who combined Punjabi lyrics with electronica and everything else that the West had to offer. Malkit Singh, Punjabi By Nature, Juggy D and the like go down the hall of fame. Bally Sagoo, Indian music producer, can be credited with several hits and introducing the reggae and bhangra trend known as bhangramuffin.

Doc Talk
A reason to smile
The nasolabial folds, commonly known as "smile lines" or "laugh lines" are the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. These folds become a cosmetic problem when they get deep and more pronounced. Some have associated darkness of skin colour along these lines making them look odd. For most, such deep smile lines are nothing to smile about. These lines or creases tend to get deeper as we age. The folds when more pronounced make one look older and tired than ones actual age thus becoming cosmetically undesirable.

The other portion is left in large pieces which are nick-named 'petals'. 400 gm fresh paneer 4 medium onions 2 tsp kasuri methi 1--2 tbsp chopped green chilli 5 medium tomatoes, chopped 1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and cut into matchsticks 6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced 1 tsp jeera 3-4 elaichis 2 bay leaves 2 tsp dhaniya powder ¼ tsp haldi powder chilli powder salt to taste ¾ tsp garam masala ½-1 tsp sugar 5 tbsp oil 2 tbsp cream 2-3 tbsp chopped dhaniya
