Capt hiding foreign bank a/cs: Modi

Balotara (Barmer), April 12
BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi today targeted Punjab ex-chief minister and Congress Amritsar candidate Amarinder Singh for allegedly not divulging details of foreign bank accounts and assets in Geneva held in his wife and son's name in his poll affidavit.

"A complaint has been filed with the Election Commission against the former chief minister of Punjab and Congress candidate from Amritsar that he has not divulged details of foreign bank accounts in his wife and son's name. This is a very serious issue and the Congress should give an answer," Modi said.

"A question has been raised before the EC that whether or not Amarinder has foreign bank accounts and I would also ask the officers of the Government of India to tell the truth to the people of the country," Modi said.

Dismissing charges, Amarinder dared Modi to pursue the accounts and prove they were his. "It is a classic case of pot calling kettle black. This is not for the first time that they have raised it and I am sure this won't be the last time either," he said. — Agencies
