TNA supporters protest against SC’s stay on release of Rajiv Gandhi assassins
Chennai, Feb 26 (ANI): The supporters of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) took to streets in Chennai against Supreme Court’s stay on release of three convicts in Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination case. Police in Chennai detained few of the protesters, who were shouting anti-Congress slogans, to bring the situation under control. Members of the regional Tamil National Alliance (TNA) supported Jayalalithaa’s decision of releasing the three convicts after the apex court commuted their death sentence to a life term. The government also filed a petition at the Supreme Court arguing that Jayalalithaa's government did not have the power to free the ethnic Tamil convicts. 



SC says fatwas cannot be forced on people, Muslim politicos welcome move
New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): After Supreme Court ordered that fatwas issued by Muslim clerics cannot be forced on people and that state has to protect persons harassed for the same, muslim politicos welcomed the move. Former Samajwadi Party leader Shahid Siddiqui said that fatwa is an opinion and there is no obligation to it. Meanwhile, Kamal Farooqui said that those Muslims who are ready to go by the fatwas are not wrong, but on the same place welcomed the apex court’s decision.



Khurshid calls Narendra Modi ‘impotent’, Politicos condemn
New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Continuing the war of words between Congress and BJP, Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid called Narendra Modi ‘impotent’ thereby inviting criticism form other political leaders. Former SP leader Shahid Siddiqui condemned the statement and said that such words should not be used by a politician. Meanwhile, condemning the same, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that this is Congress’ desperation and frustration of losing in the upcoming general elections. 



Govt to take ordinance route to pass bills backed by Rahul, BJP condemns
New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): As the central government is all set to pass a few pending bills through ordinance backed by Rahul Gandhi, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi condemned the move asking why Gandhi is reminded of such bills like anti-corruption bill when the elections are approaching. Naqvi said that in the last 10 years of their rule, congress was busy in corruption.
