Odisha law minister Maheshwar Mohanty shot at in Puri, injured
Bhubaneswar, February 22 (ANI):
Odisha's law, tourism and culture minister Maheshwar Mohanty was injured when two unidentified men opened fire at him near his house in Puri. Mohanty, 59, was driving a scooty back home from a function when the miscreants, who were following him on a two-wheeler, opened fire at him in a narrow lane near Amala Club in the heart of the town at around 8 pm on Friday, sources said. The minister sustained a bullet injury on his left arm and suffered head injuries after he fell from the scooty after being fired at. Mohanty was taken to a hospital and subsequently shifted to Bhubaneswar on doctor’s advice.



Jayalalithaa hints at prime ministership with possibility of ‘third front’ formation
Chennai, February 22 (ANI):
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa hinted at prime ministership during the launch of a state project. She was speaking at the inauguration of the official website of Tamil Nadu Infrastructural Development Board here. The regional All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) had joined hands with the Communist parties of the country to form an alliance ahead of the upcoming general elections.



Narendra Modi’s rally in North-East won’t affect people: Ninong Ering
New Delhi, February 22 (ANI):
As Narendra Modi is all set to address three rallies in the North-East, Minister of State for minority affairs Ninong Ering said any such rally would not affect North-East people. Terming the rallies as ‘drama’ by the BJP’a prime ministerial candidate, Ering said Congress had worked for these states and just a rally would not yield BJP any vote in the region. He said unlike Modi, who had already considered himself the PM, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi refrained from taking the position even after persuasion.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anjali Damania today said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari was the most corrupt politician and that voters should vote for any independent candidate but him.
