Anantnag, February 22
Higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall while rain lashed the plains affecting normal life at several places today. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed for traffic after it got damaged at a couple of places following a moderate snowfall, thus making the plying of vehicles difficult.

Snowfall was also witnessed in many parts of the South Kashmir region, including Pahalgam, Anantnag, Kulgam etc. Parts of Central and North Kashmir, including Srinagar, witnessed rain throughout the day. “Snowfall was witnessed in Banihal, Qazigund and Patnitop areas along the national highway, damaging the road at some places,” said a senior traffic official.
