Criminal gunned down on Rewari court premises Rewari, February 11 The murder in broad daylight has exposed the poor law and order situation. This is the third murder during the last 48 hours in the district. The deceased, identified as Jeet Ram, alias Jeeta Gujjar, was an accused in 35 cases of crime — murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, extortion and looting. He was lodged at Bhondsi jail in a murder case. During interrogation, the assailants identified as Naresh of Jaundi Sampka village (Gurgaon) and Hawa Singh of Kamalpur Mundanvaas village said they took revenge from Jeeta as he not only forced them to clean utensils of other prisoners but also thrashed them over petty issues when they were lodged along with him in Bhondsi jail some months ago. Sources said Jeeta Gujjar was brought here under security cover this morning from Bhondsi jail. He was to be produced before a court in connection with a murder case. Around 12 pm, the assailants first assaulted the constable Bhim Singh and then fired indiscriminately on Jeeta when he was being taken to the court of Additional Session Judge. While Jeeta died on the spot, a bullet pierced through Bhim Singh’s leg. The assailants tried to escape but the policemen overpowered them. On getting information, Rewari SP Pankaj Nain rushed to the spot. The victim’s body has been sent to civil hospital for a post-mortem. A rising crime graph in the district has not only put the police in bad light, but also created panic among the people. A BSF constable Yogesh (35) was hacked to death near bus stand in Dharuhera town and a trader Umang Jain (25) was first kidnapped and then murdered in Rewari town yesterday.
