Commuters in Mumbai ride on India’s first monorail
Mumbai, February 2 (ANI): Commuters enjoyed their ride on India’s first monorail in Mumbai
today. This is another addition to the public transport system in the city. The monorail was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on
yesterday. Excited after his first ride, a passenger Prakash Dave said
this was a great experience but there was scope of improvement too.
Police arrest Maoists in Jharkhand, recover arms and ammunition
Chaibasa, February 2 (ANI): Police in Jharkhand has arrested two hardcore Maoists and
seized arms and ammunition,during a search operation in the forests of Chakardarpur in Chaibasa district. A sub-zonal Maoist
commander Saluka Kayam was arrested during the joint operation conducted by district police and
the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
AAP founder member Madhu Bhaduri resigns
New Delhi, February 2 (ANI): AAP founder member and former diplomat Madhu Bhaduri handed over her resignation after fallout with the senior leaders of the party. Bhaduri wanted the party's national council, which met in the
national capital on yesterday, to adopt a resolution condemning the Khirki Extension incident in which law minister Somnath Bharti allegedly forced Ugandan women to undergo narcotic tests in the intervening night of January 15 and 16.
