Shashi Tharoor stable, to be discharged soon: AIIMS
New Delhi, January 18 (ANI):
Doctor at AIIMS Dr Neerja Bhatla today said Shashi Tharoor was stable and would be discharged soon. Tharoor had been admitted in AIIMS after complaining of severe chest pain, following his wife Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor’s death in five-star hotel of Delhi. The doctor also said Pushkar’s post-mortem would be held as per the protocol.



18 killed in a stampede in Mumbai
Mumbai, January 18 (ANI):
At least 18 persons were killed and several wounded in a stampede that broke out near the residence of Dawoodi Bohra spiritual leader Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin today. The stampede took place near the Malabar Hill residence of Dr. Burhanuddin, who died on Friday, as people had gathered to pay homage to the spiritual leader. The bodies of those died in the stampede were taken to Saifee Hospital. Injured persons have been taken for treatment.



Wipro net profit up 27 %, beats estimates
Bangalore, January 18 (ANI):
India's third-largest Information technology (IT) services exporter Wipro Limited registered a 27 per cent rise in quarterly net profit, topping estimates, bolstered by rising demand from overseas clients. Wipro chief executive officer TK Kurien aimed for a constant growth rate of four and four and half per cent.



India, Pakistan hold flag meet over ceasefire violations
Poonch/ New Delhi, January 18 (ANI):
India and Pakistan conducted a brigadier-level flag meeting near the border in Jammu and Kashmir, following a large number of ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) last year. The meet continued for one and half-an-hour at Chakan-Da-Bagh on LoC, a military line that divides Kashmir between the nuclear-armed neighbours in Poonch district of the region. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to reduce the tension along the border.
