Now, Binny calls Kejriwal dictator; AAP to take action
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, January 16
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Vinod Kumar Binny today called Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a “dictator” and accused him of misleading the people. Following the vitriolic outburst by its own man, the party has now decided to take disciplinary action against him.

“We are left with no option but to act against Binny. The political affairs committee of the party will serve a show-cause notice on him,” AAP senior leader Yogender Yadav said. Binny was upset over not being included in the Cabinet and being denied the Lok Sabha ticket, Yadav said. Binny, however, refuted Yadav’s claim calling it a “lie”.

Earlier, Binny held a press conference in the Laxmi Nagar constituency of East Delhi and said Kejriwal was the only authority in the party and that he did not like being disobeyed. The process of selecting candidates for the party ticket was “fake”, he said. He accused the party of backtracking from its promises made before the Assembly elections. Party leaders were in the habit of taking decisions behind “closed doors”, he alleged.

“The party had promised not to take any political support in the formation of government. It also did not fulfil its commitment of providing free water and electricity,” Binny said. A former municipal councillor, Binny was a Congress worker earlier.

Raising doubts over the party’s procedure of selecting candidates for elections, Binny said the process was manipulated.

“If the names of candidates like Shazia Ilmi from RK Puram and Manish Sisodia from Patpargunj were pre-decided, what was the use of calling applications for nominations,” he said.

Binny announced to sit on fast unto death from January 27 at Jantar Mantar till the promises made by AAP in its manifesto were not fulfilled.

Rejecting Binny’s allegations, Yogender Yadav expressed surprise over his comments and said he was acting on Opposition’s behalf. “The way he (Binny) was reading out his speech and the issues pointed out by him are the same as has been raised by BJP leaders time and again. This clearly indicates some backing from the Opposition,” Yadav said.
