UP Police ensure stern action against cops caught on camera baton charging women
Jaipur, Firozabad, Jan 15 (ANI): The police in Uttar Pradesh has ensured stern action against cops caught on camera kicking, slapping and baton-charging women
protesting on the national highway against the death of two persons in an
accident. The police said investigations were underway and the cops were suspended. The incident had sparked a sharp criticism of the state government and the
police department as the cops were seen ruthlessly beating women protesters in Firozabad district. Chairperson of
the National Commission for Women (NCW) Mamta Sharma said despite conducting of police sensitization programmes by the state government, there
had been no change in their attitude.
Vinod Kumar Binny says AAP straying from principles
New Delhi, January 15 (ANI): Rift surfaced in the Aam Admi Party once again after MLA Vinod Kumar Binny accused the AAP of betraying
the people of Delhi and straying from principles. Last month, Binny had walked out of a meeting in which the AAP decided its members for the cabinet, but was reportedly talked out of escalating the crisis.
BJP launches website to collect funds online from supporters
New Delhi, January 15 (ANI): In a run-up to the upcoming national polls, the BJP
today launched a website to donate online funds for supporting party’s
campaign of making Narendra Modi next Prime Minister. The website that was launched at an event in New Delhi had been named as ‘Modi for PM fund’. BJP
chief Rajnath Singh said the party had fixed up limits for the donations that the supporters could contribute via
Internet. Rajnath kick-started the funds-raising campaign by donating
1000 rupees. Another BJP leader Piyush Goyal said the workers of the party would go door-to-door to support the campaign.
