Tribune News Service

Bangalore, January 10
Ending speculation about his foray into politics, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) chairman and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani today said he was ready to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket.

It was reported earlier that the 58-year-old IT sector honcho could contest the crucial polls from the Bangalore South seat against BJP leader Ananth Kumar, who represents the constituency now, his fifth stint as an MP from the seat.

“Politics is a good platform to serve people. I would like to contribute to it. At this moment, I am not looking at any post but just entering the fray,” Nilekani said at an interaction at Christ College here today.

Nilekani, an IIT-Bombay alumnus and one of the 100 richest men in India.
