Central government draws flak for lack of security in riot-hit Muzaffarnagar
New Delhi/ Muzaffarnagar, Jan 8 (ANI): BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu has blamed the central government and the UP government for playing vote bank politics by keeping national security at stake. The ruling Congress party confirmed on Tuesday that Pakistan based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) had come in contact with several riot victims affected by the communal violence in state. Naidu called it a high security related issue and said instead of focusing on the problem, the governments are playing political games. Meanwhile, CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury said being a question of national security, the matter should have been dealt without any political inclination.



Jayalalithaa draws flak for overlooking fishermen row with Sri Lanka
Chennai, Jan 8 (ANI): The main opposition in Tamil Nadu, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), accused state chief Jayalalithaa for not resolving the fishermen row, deliberately, with Sri Lanka. DMK leader T.K.S. Elangovan said the Chief Minister did not respond to 11 letters written by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to her on the subject. India and Sri Lanka are often embroiled in such situations where both parties claim to have arrested fishermen for wandering away and crossing international water boundaries.



AAP office attacked by Hindu Raksha Dal activists
Kaushambi, Jan 8 (ANI): A group of 30 to 40 people attacked the Aam Aadmi Party's office in Kaushambi on Wednesday. The protestors were protesting against party leader Prashant Bhushan's comments on Kashmir. The activists demanded Bhushan's resignation over the issue. The Hindu Rakshak Sena claimed responsibility for the attack.
