Fog woes: Flights, trains delayed in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Dense fog continued to envelop New Delhi for the third day on Wednesday as flight operations came to a standstill due to poor visibility. The fog affected schedule of over 60 flights causing inconvenience to passengers. According to reports, while 42 domestic and 13 international flights have been delayed so far, eight had to be cancelled. Meanwhile, dozens of trains were also delayed due to the dense fog, while many were rescheduled. Poor visibility caused traffic jams on roads increasing trouble for office goers.



Will make Lokpal Bill stronger after coming to power: BJP
New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): The BJP on Wednesday said that the UPA government had no intention to pass the Lokpal Bill. BJP leader Kirti Azad said that the government is now trying to divert people’s attention. He also added that the BJP will make the Lokpal Bill stronger once it comes to power.



No change in interest rates, RBI governor says may act on off-policy dates if inflation does not moderate 
New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan surprised the financial markets by keeping the repo rate, or the main lending rate, unchanged at 7.75 per cent. Rajan unexpectedly kept the country's policy interest rate on hold despite calling current inflation too high, citing the prospect of easing retail prices and its concerns about the weak domestic economy. The RBI had been widely expected to lift its repo rate by 25 basis points.
