New Delhi, December 16
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung today recommended imposition of President’s Rule in the city-state as neither the BJP nor the Aam Aadmi Party had come forward to form the government ever since the declaration of poll result on December 8.

SP to block Lokpal Bill
Keeps away from all-party meeting; RS to take up Bill today; BJP wants passage without debate
New Delhi, December 16
With the Lokpal Bill slated to come up in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow, a near unanimity emerged at an all-party meeting here today, barring the Samajwadi Party (SP) that continued its opposition to the anti-corruption measure.

After much delay, the controversial Communal Violence Prevention Bill was today cleared by the Union Cabinet after removal of certain provisions, reducing the role of the legislation in handling of riots and making it neutral between communities.
