The case
Sukhvir died in the custody of Gurgaon police at Sohna on Nov 17
His family members alleged he was tortured by the police while in custody
A post-mortem was conducted on the body at Government Hospital, Sohna
The report did not mention any injuries on the body
The body was then sent to the PGIMS, Rohtak, for 2nd autopsy

Rohtak, November 27
The second autopsy on the body of Sukhvir, who had died in police custody at Sohna on November 17, indicates that the deceased had suffered grave injuries before his death. No injuries were reported in the first post-mortem report.

The findings of the second autopsy conducted at the PGIMS not only point towards the possibility of police torture, but also puts a question mark on the role of doctor(s) who conducted the first autopsy. Numerous internal and external injuries were found on the body. The viscera has been sent for forensic examination and a concrete conclusion about the cause of death would only be possible after the receipt of its report.

Although the second autopsy was conducted on November 19, the body continues to lie at the PGIMS. According to well-placed sources, the body had been handed over to the police on papers, but in reality, it was still lying at the PGIMS. Sources said the police personnel involved in the case had been trying to strike a compromise with the family of the deceased.

Sukhvir had died while he was in the custody of the Gurgaon police.
