Shimla luxury housing project faces forgery case Shimla, November 21 The FIR has been registered under Sections 420 (cheating), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120 (concealing design to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) of the IPC and Section 33 (to set fire to forest without taking all reasonable precautions to prevent it from spreading) of the Indian Forest Act. Names of Forest, Revenue, Municipal Corporation and Urban Development Authority officials could be included at a later stage. The Bemloe housing project case, along with around 10 other issues, was being probed by the Vigilance Bureau on priority after the formation of the Congress regime in the state. “It has been revealed during a preliminary inquiry that a forged application and false documents were prepared to cheat the government and allow wrongful gains to Bemloe Development and Infrastructure Company Private Limited, resulting in loss to the state exchequer by hatching a criminal conspiracy,” said Prithvi Raj, Additional Director General of Police, Vigilance Bureau.
