Apex court stays Gauhati HC verdict on CBI status
New Delhi, November 9
In a major relief to the Centre and the CBI, the Supreme Court today stayed the Gauhati High Court verdict declaring as unconstitutional the setting up of the premier investigation agency 50 years ago primarily to deal with corruption and criminal cases with inter-state ramifications.

As cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar pads up for his swansong at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the government has decided to make the occasion a memorable one for him and his countless fans.
A special stamp with the portrait of the sporting icon would be released by the Indian postal department on November 14 - the day Sachin plays his 200th (and also his last) Test match, said Union Minister of Communication and IT, Kapil Sibal today.
