The Samman Rally of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chowdhary Devi Lal virtually turned into an “oust Congress” rally here today.

Approves 12 other Bills Race courses to be regulated in state

The Punjab Assembly today passed 13 Bills, including the crucial Punjab Value Added Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2013 that authorises the state government to collect tax in advance from traders bringing goods into the state.

SC notice to Punjab, Deputy CM Sukhbir

The Supreme Court today issued notices to the Punjab Government and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in a matter related to a dole of Rs 1 crore by Badal to his alma mater, Lawrence School, Sanawar, in Himachal Pradesh.

One dead in LA airport shooting

A security official was killed and several others injured in an unprovoked shooting incident at Los Angeles International Airport today. This prompted the authorities to evacuate two terminals of one of the busiest airports in the US and ground all planes.

Army feels the communal hatred pinch on social media
New Delhi, November 1
Sometime in the first week of October this year, a post on social networking site Facebook startled the cyber watch group of the Army in New Delhi. A Facebook account user under the name of “Indian Army” posted a communally sensitive “doctored” picture, giving the impression as if the Army had posted that picture.
