UP: Four killed in Muzaffarnagar violence Muzaffarnagar, Oct 31 (ANI): At least four people were killed in two separate incidents of violence in Muzaffarnagar district, where communal clashes in September claimed more than 60 lives and displaced over 40,000 people. Three men were killed as mobs from Hussain Kalan village and neighbouring Mohammadpur village clashed on Mohammadpur Road, about 35 km from Muzaffarnagar, while in a separate clash one woman was killed.
UP govt has failed in maintaining law and order in the state: BJP New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Even as at least four people were killed in two separate incidents of violence in Muzaffarnagar district BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu, said that the Uttar Pradesh government led by Akhilesh Yadav has been unsuccessful in maintaining law and order in UP.
Kirti Azad on special scheme for minority brides in Karnataka New Delhi, Oct 31(ANI): In a bold move, Karnataka government has launched a scheme that from November 1, Muslim brides from families with annual income less than Rs 1.5 lakh can claim financial support of Rs 50,000 either in cash, gold or house hold articles from the state government. Reacting to this BJP leader Kirti Azad said that everyone who need help should get privilege when it comes to financial and social help and vote bank politics should not be done with it. The project launched by the Department of Minority Welfare will give the bride a voice and set aside an initial sum of Rs 10 crore with the aim of supporting atleast 2,000 marriages by the end of this financial year. According to sources at the state directorate of minorities, the project was launched last Monday without any fanfare.
Kareena Kapoor felicitated in the British House of Commons London, Oct 31 (ANI): House of Commons felicitated Bollywood royalty, the veteran filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s granddaughter, Kareena Kapoor, a member of India's "first family of film" for her contribution to global entertainment industry. A well known Member of Parliament, Keith Vaz honoured Kapoor for her contribution to cinema. During the ceremony, Kapoor said that, UK has been her most favoured destinations to shoot for film. Kapoor also launched an Asian newspaper at the House.
