I can't be blamed for Muzaffarnagar riots: Azam Khan
Lucknow, Sept 18 (ANI): Defending himself, SP leader Azam Khan on Wednesday said that people trying to defame him in the Muzaffarnagar riots case should first look at themselves. He also said that it is not in his character to take part in such things. Earlier on Tuesday a sting operation done by leading TV channel, exposed that the Samajwadi Party government had asked the state police to go slow on the perpetrators of the riots in Muzaffarnagar and the surrounding areas.



Muzaffarnagar Riots: BJP demands SIT probe after sting expose
New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): BJP leader Vinay Katiyar on Wednesday demanded a SIT investigation into the Muzaffarnagar violence case, a day after a news channel telecast a sting operation showing Budhana inspector Rishipal and the Inspector of Fhuwana police admitting that they delayed taking action to contain the violence under "political pressure". Katiyar also charged SP leader Azam Khan for being behind the riots.



KV Thomas on food inflation
Kochi, Sep 18 (ANI): Even as food inflation continues to upset the household budget, Union food minister KV Thomas on Wednesday said that the situation is going to improve in coming days but the country has come a long way. Thomas said that in comparison to the earlier situation, when the country used to import food items, it is now producing food in surplus. Thomas also added that the purchasing power of consumers in India has increased.



Sachin will take call on retirement himself: Kirti Azad
New Delhi, Sept 18 (ANI): Former cricketer Kirti Azad on Wednesday said that Sachin Tendulkar will himself take a call on his retirement. Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi, he further said that if selectors feel his performance isn't good enough he can be dropped. According to reports Tendulkar has been told by chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil that his performance will be taken into account for decision regarding his selection in the national team.



Hrithik Roshan launches 'Kid Krrish'
Mumbai, Sep 18, (ANI): Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft has joined hands with Toonz Animation and Turner International for Bollywood's first superhero movie Krrish. Before the third installment of the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Krrish hits theatres this November, another superhero by the same name, albeit in a kid avatar, is set to premiere on Cartoon Network on October 2, 2013.The father-son duo of Rakesh and Hrithik Roshan looked quite excited while unveiling the first look of 'Kid Krrish' in Mumbai.
