Parents of Delhi gangrape victim firm on death sentence for accused New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Parents of the 16 December Delhi gangrape victim are firm on their demand of death sentence for the accused, hours before a fast track court is set to pronounce its verdict in the case that sparked nationwide fury and forced the government to overhaul women safety laws. Father of the victim wanted the judgement to act as a deterrent in future. Last month, the juvenile accused in the case was sentenced to three years in juvenile detention. Mother of the victim is however, not satisfied with the sentence given to the juvenile and urged the court to reconsider it in light of his barbaric act.
Akhilesh’s self bowed communal seeds eating him up: BJP Allahabad, Sep 10 (ANI): As UP Chief Minsiter Akhilesh Yadav said a day before that the Muzaffarnagar communal clashes are strategies and a game played by the opposition, BJP Spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh said on Tuesday that Akhilesh himself bowed the seeds of communalism in the state and now those very seeds are eating him up. He further said that the UP government should take responsibility of the situation, rather than blaming the opposition for the same.
Indo-Pak bus service continues amidst border tensions Poonch, Sep 10 (ANI): Even as the ceasefire violations continue on the Indo- Pak border, people travelling across India and Pakistan by bus hoped for Peace and tranquillity to prevail on the disputed border of Jammu and Kashmir. Last month, a suspected militant hurled a grenade on a patrol party, injuring nine persons including five police personnel, in Pulwama district and three civilians were killed and another injured after militants attacked a CRPF camp in Shopian district. Passengers travelling across the border on Monday expressed amazement on the fact that despite ceasefire violations on both sides of the border the bus service was still continuing.
