Truck loaded with cattle impounded: The police has seized a truck loaded with cows and bulls. The truck with
number RJ02GA3198 was seized from Panchkula road and there were 11 cows and four bulls in it.
Unidentified accused were booked under various acts regarding animals. One bull was found dead from the lot and their mouths were covered with clothes, said the police. The cattle was sent to Gaushala at
Zirakpur.

3 killed in accidents: Three persons were killed in three different road accidents during the last 24 hours in the district. Narender Kumar of Hamidpur was killed on the spot when a car hit his motorcycle near Sunaria Chowk, Babain, Friday. Bhim Singh of Nolakota, Almora district, Uttarakhand, was injured when a truck struck him near Shahbad. He died at Community Health Centre, Shahbad. In another incident, Lochan of Bhilwara district, Saharsa, Bihar, was killed on the spot after he was hit by a vehicle near old bus stand, Mathana, 10 km from here, Friday. One held for eveteasing:
A person has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a minor girl. The police said the girl, in a complaint, had alleged that Jasbir Singh of Kathwa misbehaved with her and passed derogatory remarks on her. Jasbir Singh was produced in a court here on Saturday, which remanded him in judicial custody.

Three run over by train: Three workers of a company of Jaipur were mowed down by a train when they were working on a rail track at Hari Nagar village, near here, on Friday. They have been identified as Mehmuddin (28), Adoos Mohammad (32) and Rajender (45), all residents of Malviya Nagar Colony of Delhi. A senior official of the Government Railway Police said the bodies were handed over to their families after the post -mortem. Family booked for murder:
The Bawal police has registered a case of murder against Nand Lal and his family members and Gyani Ram, Niranjan Lal, Bhag Mal of Kheda Murar village for the killing of Fateh Singh (51), whose body was recovered from a water tank of the village Friday. The case was registered on a complaint filed by Munni Lal, son of the deceased.

Bypass road to be renovated: Uttarakhand Planning Minister Dinesh Aggarwal on Saturday inaugurated the strengthening of the 1.80-km radial road on by-pass in Dehradun city. BJP legislator and former assembly Speaker Harbans Kapoor was also present on the occasion. The road would be strengthened at a cost of Rs 4.31 crore.

2 held for dumping carcass: The Dehradun police on Saturday arrested two persons -- Rayees and Mustakin-- linked to the dumping of the body of an animal at Sahatradhara road recently. Both are residents of Saharanpur. The police said both have been in business of animal theft and their smuggling for quite some time. Cop succumbs to injuries incurred in accident:

Nanda Devi’s prayers: After Almora, people of Bageshwar have now sought forgiveness from Nanda Devi for not being able to carry her sedan this year. Labourer killed in landslide: One labourer was killed and three others were seriously injured when heavy debris of a landslide fell on them while they were working on a road near Bhawali on Saturday. According to sources, the labourers were working on a retaining wall of a road under MNREGA when the debris of a landslide fell on them. The dead labourer, Harish Sahni, is a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh while the injured labourers belong to Maharajganj district. “A post-mortem has been conducted on the body. 30 tins of resin seized: Forest officials have seized 30 tins of resin from a truck being carried from Almora and Nainital. The 30 tins of resin, which were being carried from the Dwarahat region of Almora district, have been seized and the driver arrested. “We stopped the truck for checking on a tip-off that resin was being illegally transported from Almora district in connivance with some turpentine factories of Haldwani.
