Two booked for rape

Phagwara, August 12
Lakhwinder Singh of Atta village, with the connivance of his sister, allegedly raped a minor girl on August 5.
The victim in her complaint lodged at Goraya police station on Saturday alleged that she was returning from school when the accused Rajni met her on the way and asked her to go to her home to have some refreshment and she went to her home where Lakhwinder was already present.
Rajni went outside from her house and Lakhwinder raped her. The police said, the parents of the victim wanted to patch up due to their respect and honor of the girl, but the accused went on threatening them.
Ultimately the family decided to lodge a complaint. The Goraya police has registered a case under Section 376/342/506 of the IPC against duo brother and sister accused, but no arrest has been made so far. The victim was admitted in the civil hospital and the medical examination of the girl has confirmed the rape.
