Foreign ministry assures to seek a solution to UK visa rules for Indian nationals
New Delhi, June 26 (ANI): India’s foreign ministry has assured that they would discuss and seek a solution to the new visa rules proposed by British government as it would deter the visitors from overstaying in Britain. Britain is set to force visitors from India, Pakistan and other countries whose nationals are deemed to pose a 'high risk' of immigration abuse to give a cash bond before entering the country.

 


PM, Sonia to inaugurate Banihal and Quazigund rail link in J & K
Banihal, June 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate a train service between Qazigund in Kashmir and Banihal in the Jammu region on Wednesday. The prestigious rail link, which includes the longest rail tunnel in India, has been constructed at a cost of 1,800 crore rupees.


IAF Chief visits Uttarakhand to boost morale
Dehradun, June 26 (ANI): Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne, who visited the site of an IAF chopper crash which killed 20 people in flood-hit Uttarakhand, said that most of the evacuation work has been completed and the rescue work will start once again as soon as the weather conditions improved.


Bad weather continues to hamper rescue operation in Uttarakhand
Dehradun, June 26 (ANI): Inclement weather and overcast sky continued to hinder rescue operations by the Air Force and the civilian helicopters as well as on land in the flood ravaged Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Commenting on the weather conditions, Captain Deshmukh, a civilian pilot who was to take off early in the morning said that now it is a situation of ‘wait and watch’ with hopes of clear skies by afternoon.


Mi-17 cockpit voice recorder found, all 20 onboard dead: IAF Chief
Gaucher, June 26 (ANI): IAF Chief NAK Browne, who arrived in Gauchar on Wednesday, said that the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder of the ill-fated Mi-17 helicopter, which crashed during rescue operation, were recovered near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand. He also said that at this point of time, it would be premature for him to comment about the reason behind the crash.
