It said plot-holders would have to make a payment of Rs 10,000 as fee for each additional gate. Industry across the state had been petitioning that display centres had become necessary to showcase their goods to their clients, especially foreigners who were used to such set-ups. They had also pleaded that allowing opening of retail centres would also help them in self-marketing of their goods. The spokesman further said the government had already announced a special package of incentives for those having plots at Jalandhar (extension) focal point by giving them interim relief in making payment of enhanced land cost.
