Nawanshahr girl 2nd in merit list
Nawanshahr: A Class XII, Neha, of Sikh National Collegiate School, Charan Kanwal, Banga, Nawanshahr, has brought laurels for the school by securing second position in a meirt list (commerce stream) of the Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. School principal Dharamjit Singh said Neha got 421 marks out of 450 (93.5 per cent). Nitika, another student of the school, had also find a place in the merit list. — OC

Married woman commits suicide
Phagwara: A married woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house at Kotli- Khakhian village, here today. She has been identified as Amarjit Kaur. Depression caused by the ongoing domestic quarrel was the cause of the suicide, the police said. The police has registered a case and sent the body to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. — OC
