Cabinet gives nod to Bill ensuring time-bound services to citizens
It proposes penalising bureaucrats for causing any delay in services 
New Delhi, March 7
The government today gave its nod to a Bill aimed at providing time-bound delivery of services such as passports, pensions and birth and death certificates, among others, to citizens.

Sehwag dropped for last two Tests with Australia

Five years after he made a triumphant return to the Indian Test team on the tour of Australia, Virender Sehwag has been axed. The selectors have named a 14-member squad for the final two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, opting to not pick up a replacement for Sehwag.

Slapping case: Punjab & Haryana HC lawyers to resume work
Chandigarh, March 7
Agitating Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyers today decided to resume work from Monday after a Division Bench marked an inquiry into the alleged slapping of a lawyer at the entrance to the court a fortnight ago. Also, further investigations in the FIR registered against the lawyers have been ordered to be stayed and the top brass of the Chandigarh Police and the administration have been put on notice.

Unsafe North: 7 rape cases on eve of Women’s Day
Chandigarh, March 7
For women in the region, Women’s Day (Friday) could be just another day, with safety being their prime concern. Seven cases of rape and gang rape were reported from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, including the National Capital Region, on Thursday, besides incidents of violence against women.
