In poll mode, BJP says NDA only credible alternative

New Delhi, March 3
 Gujarat CM Narendra Modi with party leader Sushma Swaraj at the BJP conclave in New Delhi on Sunday. Describing the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government as the most corrupt regime the country has seen since independence, the BJP today sought to position the saffron party-led NDA as the only credible alternative to the ruling coalition for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Modi trains guns on Congress, Gandhi family
New Delhi, March 3
As he targeted the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family for all the ills afflicting the country, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi clearly emerged as the tallest leader of the BJP that concluded its three-day meet here today. There was the a growing clamour within the party’s rank and file to nominate Modi as the party’s nominee for the prime ministership.

Pranab’s Bangladesh tour begins amid violence
Dhaka, March 3
President Pranab Mukherjee with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka on Sunday. Bangladesh today rolled out the red carpet for President Pranab Mukherjee who arrived today on a three-day state visit to boost bilateral ties amidst a general strike by fundamentalist Jamaat-e-Islami to protest the conviction of its three top leaders for 1971 war crimes.

A DSP was killed by a mob in Pratapgarh where he had rushed after a village head was shot dead over a land dispute, with the slain officer's wife today alleging hand of controversial UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh 'Raja Bhaiya'.
