Family can pray at Afzal’s grave in Tihar: Home Secy New Delhi, February 12 “We have no problem if the immediate family of Afzal Guru wants to come and offer prayers at his grave in Tihar Jail,” Union Home Secretary RK Singh said. Jail authorities will soon take a formal decision on the possible date for the family visit, sources said. “Afzal’s belongings will be returned to the family,” said the Home Secretary. Afzal’s family said their only demand was that the Centre return his body to enable them to give him a proper burial at their village in Sopore in Kashmir. “The only thing we want is that Afzal’s body be returned to us,” Mohammad Yasin, a cousin of Afzal, said. He said the family has written Tihar jail authorities and the Baramulla Deputy Commissioner asking that Afzal’s body be given to them.
