The police has detained one more person in the Delhi gang rape case. Akshay Thakur, one of the bus cleaners, was detained in Aurangabad in Bihar and is being brought to Delhi. Another cleaner Raju is still at large.

As public anger continued to mount over the brutal gang rape of a 23-year-old girl in Delhi, the government today announced a raft of immediate safety steps, including a drive to ensure removal of tinted glasses and curtains from buses, increased police patrolling and five fast track courts to deal with such cases.

Death penalty for Leh rape, murder

Even as the entire nation is enraged over the Delhi gang rape case and demanding capital punishment for the accused, a Leh court has awarded death penalty to an accused convicted of rape and murder.

Rs 31.4 crore spent on Kasab’s protection

Nearly Rs 31.40 crore has been spent by the government on the protection of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who carried out the Mumbai terror attack and was hanged  last month.
