first heavy snowfall

The season’s first heavy snowfall on Thursday forced closure of the Srinagar-Leh National Highway and several other roads. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was open for traffic. 

Air traffic normal

Though all roads leading to Kargil, Machil, Tangdhar, Gurez, Zanaskar remained closed, air traffic remained normal. All flights in and out of the Valley were on time. 

Met forecast

The weather office has forecast light to moderate rain and snow in the upper reaches of the Valley in the next 24 hours, The Met office said the weather was expected to improve from Friday.
