One killed in blast at liquor shop in Jammu
Tribune News Service

Jammu, November 17
In the second attack in the last three days in Jammu and Kashmir, suspected militants lobbed a grenade on a liquor shop in the Narwal area here this evening, killing one person and injuring five others.

The police said it was investigating whether there was any similarity between the firing incident outside a liquor shop in Srinagar and today’s incident.

The police said a “mysterious” blast took place outside a wine shop in the Narwal area around 6.50 pm. Six persons, including a roadside vendor, received injuries and they were rushed to the Government Hospital, Jammu, where the doctor declared the vendor as brought dead.

Police sources believed that the grenade seemed to have been lobbed to frighten than to actually kill people as most of the injured had received splinter injuries on their lower limbs.

The deceased was identified as Kuldeep Raj, a resident of Akhnoor. The injured were identified as Amarnath, a resident of Bahu Fort, Rajinder Singh of Gaddi Garh, Rakesh Singh, a resident of Ramnagar, Ramu, a resident of Narwal and Pardeep Kumar, a resident of Ramnagar.
