10 of family charred in Agra fire

Agra, October 13
At least 10 members of a family were charred to death after a fire broke out at a house on Saturday.

Rescuers extinguished the fire after battling for hours.

Those killed included four adults and six children from the same family.

The fire broke out around 2 am in the Sewla Jat area. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

The house was owned by Braj Mohan Agarwal, who was sleeping on the ground floor of the three-storey house with others.

“There was a power cut in the area and it is being presumed that the family had lit candles, suggesting that the fire could have been caused by candles,” said Vishnu Pachauri, a resident. — ANI
