The Supreme Court today took the Centre, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to task for the worsening water quality of the Yamuna despite the fact that over Rs 1,800 crore had been spent on combating pollution so far.
The Punjab Congress is in for a change. Whether Pradesh Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh stays or goes, there will be a decisive change in the manner in which the state Congress is run.
Taking up a public interest litigation seeking directions to the Punjab Government to withdraw the Rs 1-crore grant given by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to Lawrence School,
Sanawar, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the state Advocate General to immediately inform the school not to present or encash the
cheque.
