HC lifts stay on peak-hour toll on Gurgaon expressway Chandigarh, October 8 A Division Bench comprising Justice SK Mittal and Justice Inderjit Singh also directed the concessionaires of Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL) to draw a red line 400 metres short of the toll collection booths on both sides. If the queue of vehicles waiting to pay toll spills over the red lines, the Gurgaon Police will be empowered lift the boom barriers to ease the traffic congestion. The bench also ruled that the U-turn on the expressway, while coming from Jaipur to enter Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, can only be used as a U-turn and not as an L-turn to gain entry into the mall premises. The local police will be responsible for any such traffic violation at this point. On September 28, the High Court had restricted the expressway operators from collecting toll from private vehicles during peak office hours - from 8.30 am to 10 am and 5.30 pm to 7 pm. During an earlier hearing on September 4, the High Court had pulled up the operator for failing to put an end to the chaos at the toll plaza and imposed a stay on the collection of toll from private as well as commercial vehicles.
