BS Malik

Sonepat, September 28
After two back-to-back gang rapes in Hisar and Jind, a student of Class XI was allegedly gang-raped by four youths in a market in Gohana in Sonepat district on Thursday.

The police have booked four persons — identified as Kali, Harish, Santy and Deepak, all residents of Gohana — on the complaint of the victim's uncle.

Sources said the girl had gone to the market to buy grocery items from a shop. The shop owner, Kali, asked her to pick up the items from the godown. As the girl entered the godown, three youths who were already present there caught her. Kali, too, joined them. The four accused then took turns to rape her.

The victim told her family about the incident on returning home. The family decided to report the matter to the police today. DSP Yashpal Khatana said the police
had inititated a probe into the incident.
