Go with the flow
It all changed last year. Post the success of prêt and couture, the Indian fashion industry woke up to the demand of a third segment. Later, India Resort Fashion Week was organised in Goa. Dedicated to what comprises holiday, lounge, evening… in simplest terms leisure-wear, the week flaunted names like Shantanu Nikhil and Narendra Kumar. While the trickle-down effects of a fashion week are seen for the next several seasons, what specifically came out of this one was kaftan. The length kept varying though - from short to knee-length, long maxi-dresses to gowns. Originally a Persian costume, kaftans have been put to optimal use!
