Srinagar, September 6
Kashmir’s tryst with Bollywood may soon see a grand revival if Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan keeps his promise. King Khan today said he would share with film-makers in Mumbai the “cherished” experiences of his shoot so more crews zoom in on the Valley.

Kashmir was one of Bollywood's favourite shooting destinations before the beginning of militancy in the '90s. Ever since return of normalcy, local stakeholders have been trying to revive the picturesque Valley’s B-connection.

“I'll cherish this feeling (of shooting in Kashmir) and the love we got… that feeling will permeate to everyone in the film industry and, hopefully, myriad people will come to make films here," Khan said at a press conference in the state’s Summer Capital after completing a nine-day shooting schedule. He, however, said he was not “big enough” to play a greater role in bringing more people from Bollywood to the Valley.

Talking about his maiden visit to Kashmir and the movie, the 46-year-old actor said the untitled Yash Chopra film is a story about eternal love. Besides Ladakh, the film was shot at the tourist resorts of Gulmarg and Pahalgam and Dal Lake.

Admitting that not many directors from Bollywood come to shoot films here unlike yesteryears, he said his film would help attract more crews from Bollywood.

"First many used to come, but now few come… hopefully, all the visuals (of my film shot in Kashmir) will attract people to come here Inshallah… any film shot in Kashmir will be beautiful only because it is shot here," Khan said.

‘Dream fulfilled’

It’s a dream come true for me. My grandmother was from Kashmir and my father was very keen to bring me here. He died when I was just 15 so I was a bit sad to come here without him. But by coming to Kashmir, I fulfilled my father's wish.
