New Delhi, September 3
Infuriated over an argument, a 20-year-old today went on a shooting spree, killing four persons, including his sister-in-law and the girl he wanted to marry, in Bindapur area of North-West Delhi before killing himself in Ghaziabad.

The accused Ravi, a resident of Masuri in Ghaziabad, came to stay with his sister-in-law, Renu Malik, a night before the incident took place. The incident was reported at around 9 am today when Ravi and Renu had a heated argument on some issue on the first floor of the house. Meanwhile, he opened fire on Renu.

Renu lived in a rented house at Sanjay Enclave of Bindapur with her husband, who was not present at that time. Renu had shifted with her husband, who was also Ravi’s cousin, a few months back.

Police sources said he was carrying two pistols when the incident took place. “The accused Ravi shot dead Renu and then pumped two bullets into the abdomen of Sheila Garg, landlady of the house, who rushed in after hearing the gunshot. Ravi was infuriated after heated arguments with Renu,” said AK Ojha, Additional Commissioner of Police (DCP) (South-West district).

Police sources said the accused was allegedly in a relationship with Renu and reportedly wanted to marry her younger sister Shilpa, to which she had strong objections. Later, he fled from the scene in his Santro car and drove 40 kilometre to Ghaziabad’s Bhojpur area, where he killed Shilpa. He then killed Shilpa’s father Harinder, who was also opposing the marriage, before shooting himself in the temple.
