North battles landslides

Highways blocked in Himachal

Passengers, including tourists, were stranded on the Chandigarh-Manali national highway for nine hours on Thursday night due to a landslide. The Mandi-Pathankot national highway was blocked for more than 11 hours.

Villages remain cut off in J-K

Several villages in Bani, Basohli and Billawar tehsils in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir remained cut off from the district headquarters for the third consecutive day on Friday following landslides triggered by rains.

Pilgrims stuck in Garhwal

Nearly 1,000 pilgrims are stranded in various areas of Garhwal. The landslides are continuing intermittently in Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts, disrupting traffic on both the Rishikeish-Badrinath and Rishikesh-Gangotri highways
