Being the change, actually
The prime factor of judging a student’s calibre today boils down to the fat pay package and the brand of the MNC they plan to move to. There are very few who are willing to give up the power-packed jobs today and work in the field of social service. Increasingly a lot of youngsters are seen moving towards charity and committing themselves to voluntary service. We chat up with a few and find out how they got motivated into it. The passion to work for children pulled Neha Kaushal into working for the Guild for Service, an NGO working for women empowerment.

Taking on the stage

All time wonder
India has contributed much to the global fashion scene. From paisleys, ikat and batik, to the sari drape, churidaar and off late the dhoti elements, there have been influences in embellishments, prints and dyeing techniques, but out of all tunics have been a sheer versatility. Seen in almost all fashion collections, they are for now a never-dying fashion trend and have the quality to fit any body type.

Dream designs
She is one designer who loves to experiment. Anupamaa Dayal’s Sarini, a concept of sari draped around shorts affirms her different designing sensibilities. She wasn’t really applauded for her out-of-the-box idea. But then she has been showcasing her collection at the Paris Fashion Week, which is quite an achievement. She shares her idea of fashion for the season.  What’s in: Lot of separates, with which I mean teaming up various outfits, like a skirt with a shirt and a scarf or a shirt with shorts and a half sleeve jacket. It’s time to experiment with the waistline. Go in for peplums, accentuate your slim waist. Wear dresses that are waist specific—low or high waist. As for fabrics, lots of chiffon will be used. Designs that need imagination, experimentation and are original will be popular with the fashion followers.

GET PHYSICAL
Back up
There are many asanas giving a twist to the spinal column. Among these, Matsyendrasana is considered the most effective one. Matsyendrasana, the half spinal twist, is ninth in the sequence of 12 basic postures of hatha yoga. It benefits the posture in a big way, but the most important is that the entire length of the spine receives a lateral twist in both directions - first to the left and then to the right through this asana.

Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi wishes to get innovative with healthy ingredients
It is the simple basic ingredient used in all forms of cooking. But, not many must be aware that it was this simple ingredient that paved way for India’s revolution. A part of several common movie dialogues, it gives maximum body to the meal. It’s salt! Find a happy you
Be Positive! Haven’t we heard that one too many times? I being a great propagator of these words myself would say that it is perhaps one of the greatest ways of letting go of stress. Positive psychology research has found, we do have quite a bit of ‘wiggle room’ and can alter our habitual thought patterns by actively changing the way we choose to see things. If we challenge negative thinking patterns and replace them with more positive patterns, it becomes our habit and we can create a new set point for happiness
