Action after SIT report: Haryana
Naveen S Garewal/TNS

Chandigarh, July 25
The Haryana Government remains clueless on whether violence at the Maruti Suzuki India Limited plant at Manesar was pre-planned.

Chief Secretary PK Chaudhary said it was hard to believe that the incident was pre-meditated, but he would be able to comment on it only after going through the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). He said the government had not yet received any report on the incident.

“The pre-planned attack theory doesn’t seem too convincing. Over 90 union leaders have been arrested and the police are investigating the matter. We are waiting for the SIT to complete its probe and submit a report,” said Chaudhary. “The government will take action on the basis of the report,” he added.

Chaudhary said the state government had in its meeting with the Japanese delegation promised a speedy probe. The Chief Secretary said the management was in negotiations with its workers’ union and had arrived at some kind of settlement.
