It’s always health first
Healthy eating has always been talked about in books, by celebrities, by mothers and pretty much everyone around. The concept has today grown to such monumental proportions that even the elite brunches, the lavish weddings and the humble sit-down dinners at home have moved away from the oils! Today, if everything revolves around weight loss and keeping fit, so does the wedding menu.

Copybook saga
There has always been a war between originals and its copies; whoever wins it we don’t really know! The latest to join this league is the brand from UK Fitflop, which manufactures platform slippers with various embellishments — sequins, stones, floral sandals and swarovskis. And we know that the hullabaloo regarding this particular brand has increased since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was spotted wearing Fitflops during her pregnancy days, which were original but of course! On the other hand, there is an exact copy of the brand and that too at a lesser price, which is flooding the markets these days.

Age no bar
The confidence to win does not come with age, but with enthusiasm and ability to work hard. Gargi Duggal, a home-maker from Panchkula, who recently won the title of Gladrags Mrs India 2012 (North Zone), has certainly proved that one can walk the ramp at any age. How did she end up participating in the competition? "I did not exactly plan to go for it, but my husband literally pushed me. This gave me the confidence to go ahead," says Gargi.

Selling strategy

First of all a big thank you for the response to last weeks write up! I am glad it stirred you. I hope we all can do our bit as self aware citizens wherever we are. This year is a year for big films for me, I realised now is not the time to do a great yet small film with no marketing because nobody will be aware that a good film came and went. A case in point my film Monica in no way is less than No One Killed Jessica of that genre. However, it lacked good marketing and publicity. Aapki film Monica kab ayegi, they ask and I say woh to kab ki aa gayi. The response is, acha, pata hi ni chala!

GET PHYSICAL
Know thy knee

Composed of bone, cartilage, ligaments, muscle and tendons, your knee is one of your body's most complex joints. The knee joint allows you to run, walk and play sport. Bad knees are bad news when it comes to staying active. Some simple exercises can keep your knees healthy. Here are some exercises you can do to both stretch and strengthen the knee area: 1 Hamstring Curl: Hold onto the back of a chair or counter top. Flex one knee up as far as is comfortable, bringing your heel towards your buttock. Hold for 5 - 10 seconds, and then lower slowly. If possible, do not touch the floor between repetitions. (Ankle weights will increase the intensity.) Do 1-3 sets with 12-15 repetitions each. Remember to rest in between sets.
