Panchkula, April 14
Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary and three-time MLA Ram Krishan Fauji was found unconscious under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Sector 12-A early morning here today.

He was taken to the Sector 6 General Hospital from where he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.

Hospital sources said traces of poison were found in his body. His condition continues to be critical. They said Fauji was being treated for pesticide poisoning.

Fauji was found unconscious at his residence in the washroom by his security personnel. They broke open the door and found him lying on the floor.

The Director-General, Health Services, Dr Narvir Singh, said Fauji had been brought to the hospital following an attack of epilepsy. He had to be referred to the PGI after the doctors on duty could not control the fits he was suffering from.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Maneesh Chaudhary refused to comment, saying Fauji’s statement was awaited.

The presence of poison in his bloodstream remains a mystery. The Health Minister and Fauji’s neighbour, Rao Narinder, said he had spoken to Fauji in the morning and found nothing wrong.

“I asked him to join me for a walk but he refused, saying he had a function to attend in his constituency. It was later in the day that I got to know that he was critical,” the minister said.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda visited Fauji at the hospital today. Representing the Bawani Khera Assembly segment, Fauji was scheduled to attend a function on BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary in his constituency in the afternoon.
