prez address New Delhi, March 14 Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is likely to admit only about 1,400 out of the 2,667 amendments that members had moved to the Motion of Thanks moved in the Lok Sabha yesterday on the address of the President to both the Houses of Parliament. The Trinamool had moved an amendment in both the Houses of Parliament seeking deletion of the reference to National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in the Presidential address. It had said the proposal was still being debated with states and was anti-federal. Party’s chief whip in LS Kalyan Banerjee had moved the amendment in the Lower House. It is learnt to have been rejected today on grounds that it was moved to the Presidential address and not to the Motion of Thanks, as should have been. The TMC's NCTC-related amendment had, however, been accepted in the Rajya Sabha, party member Derek O’ Brien said.
