Hyderabad, February 28
At least four school children were killed and several others were missing when a bus carrying them fell into a canal in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh today.

The mishap occurred near the coastal village of G. Peddapudi when a private bus, belonging to Sai Teja Public School from P Gannavaram, lost balance and plunged into an irrigation canal. The body of a boy was retrieved from the canal while a girl succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital.

All the occupants of the bus were LKG and UKG students. According to police, the bus was carrying 45 children back home when the tragedy struck.
